About Us

One Christian Radio began broadcasting the music and message of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Monday, 18 August 2008. Broadcasting originates from facilities located in downtown New Plymouth, New Zealand. We are a ministry of Taranaki Christian Media 2003 Trust and operate under the guidelines afforded to all Charitable Trusts. " IRD # 85-297-694."

All music, local and national programs are carefully considered and selected in order to minister to the spiritual needs of the New Plymouth community and throughout the Taranaki region. Since the area is presently served with national Christian broadcasts of one specific style of music our format is a blend of traditional, contemporary and multicultural gospel music and programming.

One Christian Radio is a low power FM broadcaster, operating under the guidelines of the New Zealand Broadcasting Laws and regulations under the general user license for low power FM radio broadcasting. We currently broadcast on two frequencies in the greater New Plymouh area, 87.6FM and 107.7FM

Our radio broadcast area reaches the greater New Plymouth area in New Zealand. In July 2009 we began online audio streaming , which allows us to be heard on the world wide web. Additional funds in the months ahead will allow us to increase our online presence and to seek further opportunities for broadcasting throughout Taranaki and the world.

We recognize that there are a variety of people in our listening area who come from denominational, cultural, racial, and regional heritages that differ vastly. As such we earnestly seek to select music and programming that will minister to the community in which we live work, play and worship.

The station may present a wide point of view in their perspective and interpretation of scripture, while still adhering to the basic Statement of Faith (See Statement of Faith) It is our hope and prayer that this will encourage the believer to further study and examine the Word of God and to walk in their faith and belief in Jesus Christ as God leads them. We will continue to seek ways to balance our programming to meet the spiritual needs of the Body of Christ as well as reach out to those who do not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
